As you can plainly see within these photographs, Katie Gallagher’s look for this collection has a remarkably ghost-like appearance with a nod to Victorianism. The phrase “fantasm” assumes a different sort of meaning after seeing these pieces and you see how she's having fun with the thought of our sensory faculties seeing something as “real” or “other-worldly”, with one of these models offering the effect which they could entirely disappear at any moment.

One section of this collection that demonstrably shows the hyperlink between truth and illusory ended up being created by Bradley Rothenberg and 3D printed by Materialise in polyamide.

By laser sintering the rear of the top of this piece, Bradley managed to make anything impermeable and permeable in the exact same moment. The links weave flawlessly into one another – a design that could only be made up of 3D publishing – giving a bit that changes depending on the position of the audience; some sections could look solid to one viewer, while that same section could look permeable to a different standing just a few legs away. The viewpoint associated with viewer illustrates Katie Gallagher’s motif that perception changes from one individual to another, and plays with the viewer’s senses that one thing could disappear completely at any time.
